OpenEDU4ALL has extended the submission deadline for the Open Call for Papers until 3rd of July 2017

"We welcome and encourage all researchers and practitioners to submit their papers for the OpenEDU4ALL Workshop", underlines Christian M. Stracke, OpenEDU4ALL coordinator and ICDE Chair in OER from the Open University of the Netherlands. ICORE and MOOQ are joining forces again and inviting to the OpenEDU4ALL Workshop 2017. It is an interactive workshop on "Open Education for All" continuing the successful workshop from last year: OpenEDU4ALL 2017 will take place at the European Conference EC-TEL on Wednesday, 13th of September 2017 in Tallinn, Estonia. Call for participation to new Policy Committee for Global Advocacy of OER

ICDE invites members to sign up to indicate their interest for joining a new committee for the global advocacy of OER. The committee will be led by Paul Bardack, the Chair Emeritus of the United States Distance Learning Association. The Committee will work to be an advocate for OER, to increase global recognition of OER and to provide policy support for the use and reuse of OER.

ICDE launches open call for Insight Paper 2: Blended Learning

ICDE is seeking authors to write the second paper in our Insight series on the topic of State of the nation: blended learning. Insight papers are between 5 -7.000 words long and written in an accessible language style for a wide audience. Authors and researchers should be considered by their peers as experts in the field and may not necessarily be ICDE members.

ICDE to establish Quality Network – we now invite institutions and associations to submit proposals for Focal Points on Quality

ICDE member institutions and associations are invited to propose candidates for Focal Points on Quality. The candidate should be well anchored within its own institutions’ quality work. A representative for the institutional senior management (Vice Chancellor, Quality Director etc.) is preferred. Recognized experts outside the senior management can also be nominated, then with a priority for participating in the regional task forces. 

The proposal must be submitted to the ICDE Secretariat by email to icde@icde.org, by 1 November 2016.

Call for participation: Share student feedback approaches with the Open University

The Open University, UK currently runs a module based survey to gather feedback from new and continuing students on their study experience, the survey used satisfaction type statements and is offered to all students at module completion. As part of a current review process they are looking to identify good practice within the higher education open and distance sector, regarding student feedback approaches at both a modular and qualification level.
